Nokia retains Leadership Position in India

As per the Cyber Media Research's report, in the Q3, India registered shipments of 62.9 million handsets out which 11.1 million were smart phones, in July- August - September. Interesting results are coming out if we study the report carefully.

Nokia still retains the number 1 position in overall shipments in India, overall Nokia's market share was 18.9% followed by Samsung which was at no.2 with 12% market share. With 10.8% market share our home grown Major Micromax is there.

If you focus only on the smartphones, then undoubtedly the leader is Samsung with overall 33.9% market share, backed by the growing popularity of  it's Galaxy smartphones, Micromax is at no.2 with market share close to 20% ( 19.7% precise) and on the No 3 spot it's Karbonn with 9.5% of market share in Q3.

Interestingly none of the European manufacturers including, HTC, Sony, Nokia, are able to make in Top 3 in smartphone market share, and positive thing is on No 2 & No 3 we have Indian brands.
